Ongoing progress on golf and sustainability
for golf in South Africa

Following a very positive discussion and feedback at the CMASA Annual Conference in September, a number of further steps have been taken with the GEO Foundation to help support and promote the sustainability work being done by golf clubs across South Africa.

These include:

International launch of the OnCourse programme

At the end of October GEO launched the new and upgraded version of OnCourse, which is still entirely free to use for the remainder of 2017 and with a modest annual subscription being introduced from January 2018. CMASA, PGASA and GolfRSA are working closely with GEO to finalise the subscription costs for clubs in South Africa, and we’ll communicate those shortly.

In the meantime, please sign up and take advantage of the new program! REGISTER FOR FREE BEFORE THE END of 2017. getoncourse.golf

Involvement of Golf RSA in national sustainability initiative

Kelli Jerome from GEO came down to SA in early October to speak to the delegates at the Golf RSA workshop. Subsequent conversations have taken place around the possibility for Golf RSA to join CMASA and the PGASA in this important initiative.

Looking forward to 2018

A series of sustainability workshops are currently being planned for April 2018, so please keep an eye open for the dates and venues, which will be announced shortly. We are also working hard with our partners and sponsors to find a way of subsidising the workshops (and OnCourse) to SA golf clubs, and again, we will announce something on this in the near future.

In the meantime, we encourage you to get involved and Play your Part! Please sign up to OnCourse, start to use the programme to drive efficiencies, create new sponsorships, engage staff and connect with people in your community - knowing you are also helping with the image and reputation of the sport in South Africa. Thank you!
