OPERATION AND MANAGEMENT OF RETAIL/PROSHOP
- Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of AAA Grade PGA Qualification
- Strong communication skills
- Customer Service Oriented
- Golf Teaching qualification (May be linked to PGA qualification)
- Key requirements are as follows :
- Successful company/individual must have proven track record in delivering industry leading golf equipment retail and related experiences.
- To run and manage the Proshop and all the associated services as agreed upon.
- Must we well organised and service delivery-oriented.
- Staff must be suitably qualified and professionally trained, dressed and groomed.
- Must have good working relationship with all suppliers of golf equipment, clothes and apparel.
- Parties tendering should state the proposed period of lease, highlight their proposed financial model on how the business will operate at ERPM.
- Partied should advise on how they intend to fulfil the following criteria in operating and managing the retail and member services of the Proshop :
- Golf Equipment
- Clothing
- Shoes
- Value-add products
- Staffing the Proshop through engagement with the General Manager of ERPM to establish and ensure the best approach in providing all services as agreed upon.
- Pricing of merchandise to ensure that it is competitive in the area.
- Provide club fitting and repair services to the golfing public.
- To run and provide limited driving range facility and ensure range is manned appropriately and golf balls provided are of acceptable quality.
- Promoting the interests of ERPM Golf Club and servicing its members and guests.
- Other services
- The Proshop will collect fees on behalf of the Club.
- The golf carts must be managed by the Proshop staff and ensure they are rotated to ensure even usage.
- Manage and allocate caddies according to the requirements of members and visitors.
- To operate and maintain the timesheets according to the rules as set out in the Club’s Bye-laws.
- To communicate any playability issues on the golf course to the committee, members and social media, example, course closure due to flooding.
- To attend monthly management meeting.
- To assist with the announcing of tee off times of players in accordance with the timesheets in the unlikely event of the Golf Director or Starter not available.
- To assist on request, in the running of leagues and undertake to assist in the management of the Scratch League team.
- To assist with course setup for all major Club competitions and ensure course is marked accordingly.
- To actively market and assist with membership drives for ERPM Golf Club.
- Will be responsible for the rendering of tuition to all persons requesting same.
- Establish and run weekly/monthly junior coaching programmes.
- Establish if requires, a “Bunny” programme for Lady golfers.
- Establish a warm-up facility in consultation with management.
- The Club Professional will stand in as Manager in the absence of the General Manager and/or Golf Director.
