REPORTS TO: GOLF DIRECTOR
PURPOSE: Crucial role in ensuring smooth and enjoyable rounds for all players
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Provides information regarding course, play time, club competitions and other golf-related issues
2. Provides customer service, answers questions and maintains a positive environment for golfers
3. Verifies that all revenues have been properly recorded by inspecting receipts for all players before they depart to course, practice tee or range
4. Keeps Golf Director informed about rate of course play
5. Maintains clean and orderly appearance of starter’s booth at all times
6. Arranges players in proper starting order and assigns appropriate tees
7. Assigns carts, responsible for cleaning and parking after play
8. Communicating effectively with the golf shop and other team members to ensure smooth operations
9. Starter may also perform the following duties:
* ensures that members’ and guests’ bags are appropriately placed in carts, sandbags are full
* ensures that players go off the correct tees, start on time and in correct order
* assigns caddies and scorecards
* assists Golf Director in running Corporate Golf Days and other special events
10. Advises players and caddies about course conditions, rules, and regulations, including dress code and etiquette
HOURS OF WORK: Shifts are scheduled as 8 and a half hours per day, plus weekends and public holidays.
