FINANCIAL MANAGER VACANCY
Introduction
Waterkloof Golf Club, who is rated under the Top 100 golf courses in the country, is looking to fill the
Financial Manager position. The club was established in 1969 and the 18-hole golf course has since
become one of the most popular golf destinations in the Pretoria area. Situated next to the R21
leading to the city centre, the imposing clubhouse has a stunning view over the course and the
Groenkloof Nature Reserve.
Duties & Responsibilities
Financial Reporting – Full Accounting function up to and including Financial Statements
External Audit – Preparation of Audit Files and recons and Auditors Assistance
Payroll – Full payroll function, UI-19 submissions, EMP201, Annual and bi-annual EMP501
reconciliations, IRP5’s and Workman’s Compensation Annual Returns
– Month End related processing, journals and procedures and management reports
Tax – SARS VAT201 preparation and submission, as well as reconciling VAT on all sales items
(incl. sales credits)
– IT14SD preparation and Workings (VAT & payroll Taxes)
Financial Planning – Prepare and maintain annual budget and update monthly
– Update Annual pricing of Subscriptions, Rounds and other line items
– Redeeming and issuing of golf rounds before and after year end
– Annual membership roll-over
Capital Management – Maintain Fixed Asset Register
– Treasury Management – Preparing monthly debit order collections
– Processing supplier invoices and preparation of supplier payments and check GRVs
compared & processed by the F&B department
Proceeds Management – Updating of Cash-Up’s and resolving any discrepancies
– Daily banking and updating of bank and credit card transactions
– Match stock invoices with purchases, reconcile, finalise and adjust via journal entries
– Finalise beverage stock, necessary adjustments and adjusting closing stock and Cost of
Sales
– Issuing debtor invoices and credit notes where necessary and following up on
outstanding debt
– Write off bad debt due by members and credit monies due by resigned members
Risk Management – BBBEE Verification preparation and workings
– The management, review and improvement of financial policies, procedures and
controls
Service Manager Duties – Provide necessary training and assistance to other departments and staff
members when required
– Assist with general settings and setup on the Clubmaster golf/accounting software and
resolving queries
– Ad-Hoc duties as required
Desired Experience & Qualifications
Candidate must have a 3-year accounting degree with at least 3-5 years’ appropriate experience
working in an audit or accounting position. Registration with SAIPA, experience at a golf club and
past experience with Clubmaster will be an advantage.
